How To Process Excel Files with ODI Without Requiring to Manually Set Up Named Zones? (Doc ID 424442.1)

Goal

It is required to set up Integration Interfaces / Mapping using Excel files as Sources. These Excel files are downloaded regularly and are to be automatically read by an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Scenario and processed.

Is there a way to process these Excel files without requiring to manually edit the Excel file to set up the Named Zones necessary for the ODBC-JDBC bridge to function correctly?

The article applies to all releases of ODI like the current 12C as well as to previous releases.
