Problem Statement

Repository Object Browser (ROB) is returning errors through the browser when trying to upload and
download files, or even when running the TestROBServlets servlet. The Designer repository version is and the Application Server is Oracle AS Release 2 (10.1.2.x)


Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

  (Netscape) Not Found The requested URL /rob/servlet/oracle.des.rob.standardServices.UploadReposFile was not found on this server.

  (Internet Explorer) New File Created - Uploading..... (...) The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. (...) HTTP 404 - File not found


  • Inadvertently attempted to configure and deploy the ROB into the AS Infrastructure ORACLE_HOME
  • Attempting to install and configure the Repository Object Browser (ROB) on an Oracle Applications Server (AS), Release 2 on a Linux platform according to the "Repository Object Browser Configuration Guide" which is installed with Oracle 10g Development Suite (10.1.2.x) and located at C:\DevSuiteHome_1\rob61\doc\rob_cg-title_9i-1.htm
  • Created the Database Access Descriptor (DAD) with the name "rob" (same name as the rob.ear deployed application)
