Goal

When using Oracle Database as your search engine, how do you make the metadata search case insensitive?

By default, the Oracle Database is case sensitive when comparing field values. As a result, any searches against metadata are case sensitive. But for some usage scenarios, it may be important to search the metadata without regard for case.
