Installing Oracle Application Server Fails With : "ins_net_client.mk genclntsh Permission Denied" (Doc ID 431341.1)

Symptoms

- Installing Oracle Application Server 10g on unix/linux
- The installation fails with a "permission denied" error when the installer is starting to link the binaries.
- The first error appears when running the make of ins_net_client.mk.
- The installActions.log shows:

installMakePath = /usr/bin/make
installMakeFileName = /opt/oracle/as10g/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk
installTarget = client_sharedlib
installArguments = ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/as10g,
undoMakeFileName = null
undoTarget = null
undoArguments = null
logFile = /opt/oracle/as10g/install/make.log
progMsg = Building client shared libraries

The exit of this operation of file make also is available in
: '/opt/oracle/as10g/install/make.log'

Initial exit of the originated process:
----------------------------------
/opt/oracle/as10g/bin/genclntsh
make: execvp: /opt/oracle/as10g/bin/genclntsh: Permission denied
make: *** [client_sharedlib] Error 127

The $ORACLE_HOME/bin/genclntsh binary has the correct permissions
