Information in this document applies to any platform.

iAS /SLES9 with actual patches, Kernel Version: Kernel 2.6.5-7.282-smp

Important Information for Version 11g : The steps in this document are related to creating and configuring the Font Metric Files. These steps are actually the core of this document and are the most complex part for setup. Reports Version 11g has a very important enhancement in this area and these steps are not required if you are using (or if you upgrade to) version 11g. Release 11g of Reports on Linux/UNIX platforms can read font metric information directly from the ttf files just like Windows platforms. For more details please see :
Note:852698.1 "How to Use TTF Fonts for Font Metrics On Unix With Reports 11g?"

If you are using Reports version 10gR2 and below, please continue with the steps below in this document.

Migration from 6i Reports to 10g.
In Reports Builder everything works fine.
Running the Reports on Unix gives the following error:

REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'CG$F_BEZEICHNUNG'.

This problem occurs in some of the reports and depends on the data retrieved from the Database.
