Active Directory (AD) to Oracle Internet Directory (OID) synchronization process had been working until the Infrastructure server was restarted.
Now ActiveChgImp.trc file shows error connecting to AD server:
LDAP URL : (adserver.mycompany.com:389 cn=oidbind,dc=mycompany,dc=com
Specifying binary attributes: mpegvideo objectguid objectsid guid usercertificate
LDAP CommuncationException javax.naming.CommunicationException: adserver.mycompany.com:389
[Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out]
Reader initialization failed!
However, command line ldapbinds directly to same AD host/port work fine and consistently every time, i.e. the following ldapsearch works consiste:
ldapsearch -h adserver.mycompany.com -p 389 -D "cn=oidbind,dc=mycompany,dc=com"
-w <AD password> -b "" -s base "objectclass=*" highestCommittedUSN
So the connection timed out error only occurs for odisrv/sync.
DNS changes made and restarted infrastructure OID server.
