Purpose

LD_ASSUME_KERNEL setting can override native Operating System thread implementation.  One need to understand the effect of various LD_ASSUME_KERNEL settings. LD_ASSUME_KERNEL is an OS setting that can affect many products. This note examines how this setting affects the opmn module of the Oracle Application Server product.

Scope

The note should be reviewed before setting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL environment variable.
