HTTP-403 Forbidden Error for Midtier SSO Protected Applications After Enabling SSL for SSO

Symptoms

After reconfiguring SSO for SSL access and re-registering the SSO Partner Applications, error HTTP-403 Forbidden is displayed when midtier SSO-protected applications such as Oracle Discoverer Plus, Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports are accessed.

Browser error:

HTTP-403 Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /sso/auth on this server.

The mod_osso partner application has been successfully re-registered on the Infrastructure. SSO login is successful for:

https://<SSOhostname.domain>:<SSLport>/pls/orasso/orasso.home
https://<SSOhostname.domain>:<SSLport>/oiddas

Specific Symptoms

The original SSO hostname and port is displayed in the browser address bar when the error occurs.

The requested URL is /pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login...

The error occurs before the login page is displayed. There is no opportunity to enter credentials.
