In a Portal application where SSO External Applications are configured, users have the option to store the credentials for the External Applications so that application access from Portal is seamless. If credentials are saved, they are stored in the SSO Repository database.

Since there is no information flow from the external application to SSO, SSO cannot know when the password is changed in the external application. Therefore after change of password in the external application the credentials must also be updated in the SSO External Application credential store.

Users can update the stored credentials via Portal using the Customize link on the External Applications portlet.

However it may be more desirable to have a link that users can click in the application to reset the stored credentials for a specific External Application so that they are prompted for new credentials the next time the External Application is accessed.

Is there a supported SSO API to reset the External Application password?
