This issue occured in Forms 10.1.2.2.0 and after a migration from a 9i to a 10g database.

Symptoms

After migrating RDBMS from 9i to 10g and also Oracle Application Server (OAS)  and Developer Suite from 9.0.x  to 10.1.2.2.0.

When trying to update, insert and delete data from Forms after the upgrade, the user receives the following error:

ERROR

The user has only select privledges, and the grants against these tables are assigned by using DBMS_SESSION.SET_ROLE('role').

The relevant updates are related to a table, and not a view. The failing table related to this problem also has a public synonym.
