Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 10.1.2 to 10.1.4 [Release 10gR2 to 10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Logins to users authenticated via the Oracle Internet Directory (OID) plsql external authentication plug-in against a remote Microsoft Active Directory (AD) server sometimes fail. The problem is usually intermittent. Other non-AD user binds continue to work.

Error shown is: ldap_bind: Can't contact LDAP server

With plug-in debug enabled the log table shows:

LDAP error 81 is a timeout.
