How to Set Up AFPL Ghostscript with PDF Converter 7.5 to Optimize Checked-In PDF Files.
How do I set up AFPL Ghostscript with PDF Converter 7.5 to optimize checked-in PDF files, and how does this conversion work?
Ghostscript is a third party software set that can be used to optimize checked-in PDF files. The procedure titled “Optimizing Checked-In PDF Files with PDF Converter” found in the 7.5 Installation Guides for PDF Converter states that the GhostscriptIntegration component must be installed and enabled in Stellent Content Server to enable this functionality. However, beginning with version 7.5 the GhostscriptIntegration component is no longer required, and the component is no longer provided on the Stellent PDF Converter software distribution CD-ROM.
Also, beginning with version 7.5, the conversion type ‘GhostscriptOptimization’ is no longer used. The 'GhostscriptOptimization' conversion was rolled into an enhanced 'PDF Refinement' conversion for checked-in PDFs. The 'PDFRefinement' step will automatically call the 'GhostscriptOptimization' step if the GhostscriptPath setting has a valid path in it.
