How to Full-Text Index Adobe Acrobat 7.x (PDF 1.6) Files Using Verity

When full-text searching for a word in an Adobe Acrobat 7.x (PDF 1.6) document, the content item is not found. The following error message is in the server output when indexer tracing is enabled:

Full-text indexing of PDF 1.6 files is not currently supported by the Adobe filters provided with Verity 4.5.1 and Verity 5.5.
