Cluster node starting from the shared file system

Symptoms

After setting up a new 10gR3 cluster on a Unix system the following error pops up:

Access denied to Content Server managed resource. Error loading credentials from master cache. Unable to open file /opt/stellent/10gr3clus_stub/data/users/userdb.txt

Nothing is being published to the <stub_dir>/data/ directory and the Content Server process appears to be running from the cluster shared directory rather than from the stub directory.
