Product: Content Server
Version: 7.5.1

Symptoms

We have a DCL configured on our content server. Each metadata field in the DCL is configured as a multiselect list field. The parent field has several possible values. Each child field has several possible values. Not all values at the top level have an associated value at a lower level.

Here's our issue. We check in a document and assign values to the DCL fields for that document on the checkin page. We assign more than one value to the top level of the DCL. One value has an associated child value in another field. The other value does not. The document is checked in successfully. Then we want to later update the DCL for that document, so we open the document information page and select update from the drop-down list. If the parent has two or more values and one of those values has no associated child value, then on the update, the child field has no values in its drop-down list. To get the values to populate in the child field, the value in the parent field must be removed and re-added. Then the values will appear in the child drop-down list. How can we get the values to show up without having to clear the values for the DCL and reselect everything? We have installed the SchemaMultiselect-7.5.1 component.
