Symptoms
Client trying to set up criteria workflow with custom field called department. Client set that to long text. When client attempts to create criteria workflow with department metadata equals to charvalue more than 30 characters, it errors out indicating it can't handle custom field due to character limitation. The actual issue is that custom field is set to long text, which has a character limit of 200.
