Cannot Update In Contributor After Installing Collaboration Manager (Doc ID 449658.1)

Symptoms

After installing Collaboration Manager 7.5.2, we can no longer update Site Studio 7.5.1 Contributor Data files using Contributor mode.

After clicking "Update" and then updating metadata, clicking on the "Assign Info" button results in the following error message:

"Content item 'xml_??????' was not successfully checked in. Content account is not defined. Unable to validate user security."

and the server log shows the following message and stack trace:

Event generated by user 'mydomain\administrator' at host 'myhost'. Content item 'xml_??????' was not successfully checked in. Content account is not defined. Unable to validate user security. [ Details ]

This error occurs for content that is not even planned to be managed by Collaboration Manager.
