"Cannot Find Server or DNS Error" After Clean Content Server Installation (Doc ID 449669.1)

After a new installation of Content Server on Windows 2003 with IIS 6.0 was completed, the Content Server started without error and IIS correctly displayed the portal.htm page.

However, when the login button is clicked, the following error is seen:

"Cannot find server or DNS Error."

This error is seen typically when the user permissions on the Content Server instance directory are not sufficient, but in this case the service user is member of the local administrator group.

The ISAPI filter version being used is, however the issue is not specific to the ISAPI filter's version.
