"Revision class ID XXXXXX Already Exists" Error When Importing Documents (Doc ID 449739.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to import data from one Content Server to another, the following error occurs:

Content Item 002950 with revision label 10 was not successfully checked in. The content item with revision class ID 2950 already exists in the system with a different content ID C_002950
