The ODI Agent may be thought of as the "conductor" of the various instrumental sections in the Enterprise data integration orchestra. It takes the information stored in Knowledge Modules and generates the appropriate SQL for the technology that will Extract, Load, or Transform data. It also updates the logs which can be viewed via the Operator module.
Proper installation and setup and is important so that load balancing can be done and scenarios run smoothly.
