Applies to:

Oracle Reports Developer - Version 10.1.2.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
One of the causes discussed here occurs rather on Unix machines.

Symptoms

Note: The example value for P_1 in this note will be a letter with accent: the Capital A with Diaeresis: , but it might not appear as such in your browser.
This character will be referenced as [A Diaeresis] later on to workaround possible browser display issues.

Submitting a report that uses a parameter form with an URL to rwservlet e.g.:

where the parameter form does not show the value for P_1, provides a report showing an unexpected value for P1 such as '?' (or similar) .

When the parameter form is not used, there is no problem.
Parameter values including other non-ASCII characters can similarly hit this issue.
