A configuration file used by reports, such as servername.conf, rwnetwork.conf or rwbridge.conf, is properly saved but the settings are not taken into account.

Analysis indicates that the configuration file contents are silently replaced when the file is used. In fact the file is overwritten by the corresponding template file.

Three files, all located in <oracle_home>/reports/conf directory, can be impacted by this issue. When it occurs, at least one of the following files is silently replaced:

Report Server configuration file servername.conf is replaced by rwserver.template file.
Discovery Service configuration file rwnetwork.conf is replaced by rwnetwork.template file
Network Bridge configuration file rwbridge.conf is replaced by rwbridge.template file

The configuration file has been modified, possibly ported from another oracle home.
