BPEL Server Does Not Catch Exceptions Thrown By Custom XPath Functions (Doc ID 458434.1)

Symptoms

The BPEL server does not catch exceptions thrown by custom XPath functions such as XPathFunctionException or ora:parseEscapedXML.

The following behaviour occurs when an exception is thrown using XPathFunctionException or an error occurs when using Xpath functions such as ora:parseEscapedXML: 

  1. The instance disappears from BPEL console.
  2. BPEL CatchAll does not catch the exception.
  3. The following errors are written to the domain log file:
    ORABPEL-09500
    ORABPEL-05002 and
    ORABPEL-02152
