OID 10g Opmnctl Startall Hangs Forever / The oidmon Process Is Not Started / No oidmon.log Generated / OID Starts Without Problems With Oidmon/Oidctl Only (Doc ID 459889.1)

Starting Application Server (AS) 10g with opmnctl startall hangs forever.

Starting only Oracle Internet Directory with the following commands also hangs:

No OID processes are started, not even oidmon.

No oidmon.log updated, or if backing up and deleting it, no new oidmon.log is generated at all.

No logs are touched or generated in <ORACLE_HOME>/ldap/log.

Starting OID with oidmon+oidctl instead (temporarily, as a test) works fine.

OID <ORACLE_HOME>/network/admin/tnsnames.ora servicename entry for the Metadata Repository Database (MRDB) was changed.
