Nodes In OracleAS 10.1.3 Multicast Cluster Topology Intermittently Stop Seeing Each Other (Doc ID 462706.1)

Symptoms

Intermittently, OracleAS 10.1.3 instances configured in a cluster stop seeing each other.

This is evident from the output of 'opmnctl @cluster status' which no longer shows information from all the instances in the cluster. Only the information for the local instance is displayed. As a result it appears that the cluster has become split or broken.

If the same 'opmnctl @cluster status' is run 20 or so minutes later the correct results are returned. During this period no manual stop or start of OPMN has taken place. The problem appears to have rectified itself.

In the opmn.log the following type of message (repeated a number of times) coincides with the cluster split situation:
