'A unique index cannot be created ...' Message When Upgrading From Sunopsis V3.2 To ODI

Symptoms
After having :
- performed an mupgrade on the ODI (Sunopsis) Master Repository
- then launched Topology Manager > Work Repository Upgrade
it appears that 2 Work Repositories stored on other databases are correctly upgraded.
However, when attempting to perform the upgrade on the Work Repository stored on the same database as the Master then the following message is signaled during the upgrade operation :
.....A unique index cannot be created because the table contains rows which are duplicates with respect to the values of the identified columns. SQLSTATE=23515
