The digits used in Arabic applications can be represented as Arabic-Indic digits or European digits. This actually varies from application to another according to the nature of the application, user requirements and the country in which the application is running. This note explains how to switch between Arabic-Indic digits a European digits in Arabic applications.

Note:
The solution below works on the Arabic systems. E.g. either NLS_LANG is set to ARABIC or with the clients where windows locale is set to Arabic. The setting is ignored and European digits are used on other locales.
