Last updated on FEBRUARY 28, 2025
Applies to:
Oracle Reports Developer - Version 9.0.4.0 to 10.1.2.2 [Release Oracle9i to 10gr2]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When running a report in PDF format with Arabic Text (Right-To-Left) and the text retrieved from database is like "GEORGES X JOEW", it is displayed in the output as "X JOEW GEORGES", i.e. text is reversed, and middle character is shifted to the Right. If the text is like "GEORGES XR JOEW" or “GEORGES JOEW”, then it is displayed correctly
Issue occurs only when there is only one character in the middle of two words. If there is no character in the Middle or more than a single Character, issue is not reproduced.
