This document is designed to discuss the usage and implementation of Oracle Reports' two-way bridge for Server Discovery Across different subnets in Reports 10g.  It provides an example of how to set up a bridge between two midtier boxes and gives hints on how to troubleshoot potential problems. 

IMPORTANT: Although the technical details apply in Reports 11g yet, the steps to implement the Reports Bridge in 11g are different. The new steps are documented in:

This bulletin applies to all technical users implementing Reports Server requests from clients across subnets using Oracle Reports bridge.  There is one-way and two-way bridge configurations.  This bulletin focuses on two-way bridge configuration to allow discovery of report servers over different subnets via remote bridges.
