Symptoms

On 10.1.3.3 in Production:
Find that after deploying an application to an OC4J instance, the necessary entry in the file server.xml for that new deployed application is missing.
This means that when the container is restarted the application is no longer loaded and visible to the users.

Looking into the logfile for the OC4J instance ($ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs) following error is reported:
Error instantiating application at
file:/home/oracle/j2ee10gR3/j2ee/home/applications/datatags.ear: Unable to get ApplicationConfig
for datatags : Error creating deployment directory: IO Error: No such file or directory

Furthermore the file datatags.ear is missing in the directory $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/applications.

In some cases the formatting of the file server.xml is also different after the deployment.
The tags <application /> will be found at the top of the file in opposite to the bottom where these normally are.
