A Webgate Enabled Web Server Will Not Start After Webgate Installation (Doc ID 553236.1)

This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

The web server will not start up after a Webgate installation.  Users may see an error in the web server console upon web server startup and also in the webserver access and/or error logs stating the following:

"Error: WebGate: Language initialization failed. Please check your language configuration."

Inspection of the Webgate's oblog file reveals the following error message:

"Error: WebGate: Language initialization failed. Please check your language configuration."

1. Install a Webgate where its files are owned by a user other than the user that the associated web server runs as.

2. Attempt to start the Webgate-enabled web server.
