Cannot Add Or Remove Objectclass To Object In ADAM via OVD

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When trying to add or remove an auxiliary objectclass to an entry in ADAM via OVD Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD), the modification reports success but the objectclass of the object is not modified.

The auxiliary classes that are both already mapped with the objectclass mapper plugin and native ADAM.
Neither type of auxiliary class modification works.

Sample ldif files tried:

dn: cn=testuser1,ou=people,dc=mycompany,dc=com
changetype: modify
add: objectclass
objectclass: myobjectclass

dn: cn=testuser1,ou=people,dc=mycompany,dc=com
changetype: modify
add: myattribute
myattribute: value
objectclass: myobjectclass

Results using OVD's command line ldapmodify:

OVDHOME\tools>ldapmodify -h <ovd host> -p <ovd port> -D <valid user DN> -w <password> -f <ldif filename>
modifying entry cn=testuser1,ou=people,dc=mycompany,dc=com

** myattribute was added, but objectClass was not

Further, bypassing OVD completely and trying directly against ADAM host and port, it also fails, i.e.:

OVDHOME\tools>ldapmodify -h <ADAM host> -p 389 -D <valid ADAM admin DN> -w <password> -f <ldif filename>
modifying entry cn=testuser1,ou=people,dc=mycompany,dc=com
ldap_modify: No such attribute
ldap_modify: additional info: 00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090A8A, comment: Error in attribute
conversion operation, data 0, vece
