Goal

This document presents an overview of memory addressing schemes that apply to hardware platforms, such as the x86 and x86-64 architectures that typically run Microsoft Windows systems, and illustrates why by default the maximum JAVA heap that can be set for a 32bit JDK cannot be higher than about 1500M.
