Goal

This document discusses how to uninstall / remove Oracle Application Express (APEX), formerly known as Oracle HTML DB, from a standard database.

Note: It does not apply to Container Databases (AKA multitenant) installations where APEX exists in both the CDB and PDB(s).

For removing APEX schemas from prior installations after a successful upgrade, see the following document:
Can We Safely Remove Old Flows_XXXXXX / APEX_XXXXXX Accounts After an APEX Upgrade (Doc ID 555624.1)

This document does not include information on how to remove APEX from a 12c database. In such case, please refer to the APEX 4.2 or the APEX 5.0 documentation:
4.2.x - http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/HTMIG/trouble.htm#HTMIG270
5.0.x - https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E59726_01/install.50/e39144/trouble.htm#HTMIG270
