Symptoms

Note that Error Correction Support (Premier Support) for 10GR2 has ended.  The only exceptions are if you are using 10gR2 as a part of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) or have purchased Extended Support.

Oracle Customer Support will do its best to assist you but, unless you are using this product in conjunction with EBS, we encourage you to begin your migration/upgrade strategy as soon as possible so as to ensure uninterrupted support for your Forms related Oracle products.

 

The following information will help to address known issues related to installing Developer Suite (Forms/Reports) on Windows Vista (32-bit) or Windows 7 (32-bit).  The 64-bit releases of these operating systems are not certified for use with Developer Suite.  Consider using version 11.1.2.0 or newer if a 64-bit operating system is to be used.



Starting from 10.1.2.3 (<Patch 5983622>), Developer Suite is certified to be installed on Windows Vista (32-bit) or Windows 7 (32-bit). Developer Suite10.1.2.0.2 must be installed first before applying 10.1.2.3 patch. When installing Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2  on Windows Vista or Windows 7, you may encounter the following issues:

 (1) The prerequisite checks with the following message:

Checking operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.
Actual 6.0 Failed <<<<

(2) The following error message may appear

Abnormal program termination. An internal error has occurred. Please provide the following files to Oracle Support:
"Unknown"
"Unknown"
"Unknown"

(3) The following error message may appear

"Install has encountered an error while attempting to verify your virtual memory settings. Please verify that the sum of initial sizes of the paging files is at least 256 MB"
