Symptoms

The objective is to customize the error pages returned by HTTP Server - in particular HTTP-404 and HTTP-500.

For example, the following directives have been added to the httpd.conf

When testing by issuing a request to force one of the above errors, the browser still returns the standard error e.g request a non-existent document, the standard 404 error is returned rather than the custom error page.

Changes

MS Internet Explorer may be the client browser
and/or
The application generating the error is fully or partly deployed in an OC4J instance e.g
