Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Fusion Middleware HA - FMW HA - Version: 10.1.2.0.0 to 10.1.4.0.1

Symptoms

The objective is to build an Oracle Identity Management High Availability Cluster (IMHA)

The install of the first node in the cluster has reached the "Oracle Internet Directory Configuration Assistant" and at this point the install appears to hang.

There are no errors to be found in ORACLE_HOME/ldap/log/oidca.log. It is just that the configuration assistant is running very slowly.

For example, further investigation shows that a ldapbind command to the newly created Oracle Internet Directory is taking 10 seconds or longer to succeed.

Changes

There is a firewall between the Oracle Identity Management node and the Oracle Server hosting the Metadata Repository.
