ED Command In SQLPLUS Does Not Pickup SQLPATH Variable (Doc ID 563615.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Setting the SQLPATH environment variable has no effect in a new install of 10.2.0.1 SQL*Plus client.

Steps to Reproduce the problem:
1. Set SQLPATH in registry to a local or network drive.
2. Start SQL*Plus client.
3. Connect to any database.
4. Type: ed <script_name> (ensure the specified .sql file exists in the path specified for SQLPATH).
5. Press Enter.

The user will be displayed with the following:

File cannot be found and options include to create a file with <script_name>.

@<script name> works as expected.

Changes

Upgrade of SQL*Plus client to 10.2.0.1.
