Oracle Database Cloud Exadata Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When APEX is installed and configured with the Enterprise PL/SQL Gateway (EPG), the XDB Login page may be presented when the APEX URL is entered:

http://<hostname>:<Portno>/apex

For IE: The server servername at XDB requires a user name and password.

For Firefox: A username and password are being requested by http://<hostname>:<Portno>. The site says "XDB"

When the DAD is configured correctly, this URL takes you directly to the APEX login page. If the XDB Login page is presented, this indicates that there is a configuration error related to the APEX DAD. Specifically, this error indicates that the APEX DAD is not able to successfully login to the database.

This document discusses the troubleshooting steps that can be taken to diagnose the problem with the APEX DAD configuration in the EPG.
