Oracle Internet Directory (OID) fails to start and the ODS database account (which holds the OID objects on the Metadata Repository database) keeps getting locked over and over.
The OID $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/log/oidmon.log shows error:
will retry again after 20 sec
2008/04/22:14:48:34 * Connecting to database, connect string is asdb
2008/04/22:14:48:34 * [gsdsiConnect] ORA-28000, ORA-28000: the account is locked
Tried unlocking the ODS database account as per <Note:563398.1> but it immediately gets locked again.
The problem happens whenever Enterprise Manager (EM) is running, i.e., the Grid Control Agent is started.
The password for the OID database account, ODS, was changed with oidpasswd, and it cannot be reverted back to what it was during install time due to new password policy rules adopted.
Tried running the OID $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oidemdpasswd to update the proper database password for EM to use, however the same problem continues.
