Goal
Provide steps on how to encrypt the password with "SHA" algorithm for entries in OVD 10g.
Assuming the following scenario:
- OVD with an LDAP adapter, for example to OID:
Name: <ADAPTERNAME>
Root: ou=<OUNAME>,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com
Remote Base: cn=Users,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com
Credential Processing:
Proxy DN: <SUPERUSER_DN>
Proxy Password: <PASSWORD>
Pass-through Mode: Always - Using cn=<OVD10GSUPERUSER> and the above adapter, should be able to add an entry to OID issuing the LDAP command against OVD.
- Also in the same manner, should be able to change a password in the backend directory.
- The backend directory needs to allow both operations. In the case of OID, assume connection to it using the adapter with Proxy DN: <SUPERUSER_DN>.
