AD to OID 10g DIP Synchronization Fails with Errors: Instance Number : 2 Already Running on another host / Cannot start another Instance with the same number (Doc ID 727828.1)

Symptoms

    1. The DIP log file $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/log/odisrv02.log shows that odisrv is failing to start:



      This log file is generated when odisrv is started using oidctl command with instance=2 and configset=1.



  1. After starting the odisrv instance, it is visible in Oracle Directory Manager (oidadmin) when clicking Server Management > Integration Server

Changes

This was caused due to the conflict between Virtual hostname and Physical Hostname.
