Goal

How to configure Oracle Single Sign-On (SSO) for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) virtualhost access?

Note: this document describes the manual configuration steps for the case where SSO will be configured for SSL access using a virtualhost and there is no SSL termination by a load-balancer.

In most cases it is recommended to use the SSO SSLConfigTool utility to configure SSL for SSO. Please reference the following documentation for more details:

Oracle Application Server Administrator's Guide 10g (10.1.4.0.1)
12 Using the SSL Configuration Tool

For Portal 11g environments please follow the version-specific Fusion Middleware documentation.
e.g. for 11.1.1.5:

Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle Portal 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
7.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for Oracle Portal
