Ways to customize error messages returned from Webdav, DIS / WEI (Doc ID 739105.1)

Goal

When trying to put a file on a WebDAV folder and a mandatory metadata value does not have a
default value, the following error is displayed:
"An error occurred while attempting to create the content item '(document name).."

Is there a way to customize an error message such as this one that comes from Desktop Integration Suite (DIS) / Windows Explorer Integration (WEI) to make the message more descriptive for the user?
