Intermittent REP-50002 Error Running Reports after Applying iAS Patch Set (Doc ID 740311.1)

After applying Patch set, the server is intermittently encountering the following error:

      "REP-50002: Server is shutting down"

The rwserver.log may show error messages similar to:

*** 2008/6/18 3:52:49:484 -- Defragmenting the dat file
*** 2008/6/18 3:52:49:515 -- java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException:
String index out of range: 48

The rwserver.trc may show error messages similar to:

[2008/7/18 3:0:13:46] Debug 50103 (JobObject:writeLongUTF): Number of Break Index values=0
[2008/7/18 3:0:13:48] Exception 50125 (java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out
of range: 108

Then the Reports Server starts to shut down at this point, and hence the reports fail with the REP-50002 error.
