Indexing is very slow after adding a large number of files to the system. (Doc ID 741705.1)

Symptoms

Indexing is taking a long time to complete. 6000 files which are a mixe of html, xml, and pdf files were loaded
into the system at night. The files are going through the indexer at about 50 files per hour which is considered very
slow.

There are no actual errors relating to indexing that can be seen in any of the log files.
