Goal

When using Forms/Reports Builders on Unix platforms, the list of fonts available are acquired from Operating System.

Sometimes it is necessary to use a font for which only Windows format "ttf" files are available. This document describes a method (not the only method but a method that proved to be quite useful and easy) to convert the ttf files to unix side afm/pfb files so that any font could be ported to unix X Window session.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that, there are some freely available ttf files and also some licensed fonts. To apply the method described in this document, it could be necessary to contact the font vendor to get appropriate licenses. This document only demonstrates the method.
