SSO Failure Error When Accessing SSO Via Reverse Proxy (Doc ID 754184.1)

An infrastructure and middle tier has been configured to use a reverse proxy server according to the 9.2 chapter Configuring a Reverse Proxy for OracleAS Portal and OracleAS Single Sign-On in Oracle Application Server Enterprise Deployment Guide Oracle Application Server Enterprise Deployment Guide 10g Release 2.

When attempting to access a partner application using a reverse proxy virtualhost, request is redirected to SSO server and the following error is thrown:

Oracle SSO Failure - Unable to process request
Either the requested URL was not specified in terms of a fully-qualified host name or OHS single sign-on is incorrectly configured. Please notify your administrator.

Mod_osso validation fails with the following message in the httpd Server log:

Requested URL is not specified in terms of fully-qualified host name or invalid SSO partner configuration. Host from request, registered host


Oracle HTTP is based on Apache 1.3.x.
