2. Check your Version Information
To identify steps you will use to maintain your WebCenter Content installation, you should begin with identifying which versions and patches you currently have installed. To identify the WebCenter Content versions and patches you have installed:
1. Log in to the Content Server as an Admin.
2. From the Administration screen choose "Configuration for your server".
To identify your version, look at the "Product Version" section, WebCenter Content has been released as the following 10gR3 versions:
WebCenter Content Release Versions
Oracle 10gR3 (10.1.3.3.3)
Oracle 10gR3 (10.1.3.3.2)
Oracle 10gR3 (10.1.3.3.1)
Oracle 10gR3 (10.1.3.3.0)
To identify your patches look at the "Enabled Component Details" under the "Features and Components" section of your configuration.
3. Review General information for Maintaining/Patching WebCenter Content 10gR3 installations
- It is strongly recommended that patch updates are first tested out in a development environment before applying a patch to the production environment.
- It is recommended that you update Content Server to the latest build, however if you are not experiencing problems there is no immediate need to update.
- When patching and maintaining your WebCenter Content installation you will be applying Content Server components as the method of installing a patch.
- Many times there are dependencies between patches/components; when you upgrade one patch component you will also want to upgrade associated patch components. The patches are delivered in a "bundle" with several components being packaged together. It is always recommended to apply the entire bundle and to replace any components you are currently using with the new ones in the latest bundle.
- Effort is made to keep this article updated, however best practice is to also check MetaLink for additional patches.
- IMPORTANT: This article focuses on patches for the core Content Server. You may also need to install other patches, depending on which feature of Content Server are used.
4. Perform the Steps to for Maintaining/Patching WebCenter Content (10gR3)
There is no update path for 10.1.3.3.0. If you are using 10.1.3.3.0 you should install the latest release of Content Server.
To maintain core Content Server versions 10.1.3.3.3, 10.1.3.3.2, or 10.1.3.3.1, install the patches noted in Table 1 below. The column labeled "Patch ID" identifies the patch number to use for your version.
NOTE: There was a recent naming change and replacement of the core update patch. The patches are now listed under 10.1.3 in MetaLink and not specific to 10.1.3.3.1 or 10.1.3.3.2. Please update any saved searches you have to reflect the new version numbers.
