Goal
In some cases it is useful to double check which is the IP address and hostname picked up by a java process,e.g.
- machines where several IPs are in place and you do not know which one is picked up by default
- There are several hostnames defined in /etc/hosts for each available IP address but is not clear which one is picked up.
